The course aims to give students an understanding of some key themes in environmental soil science. The prerequisite course is soil science. In this course, the dynamics of nutrients and contaminants within the soil ecosystem are introduced and related to the soil environmental issues such as mobility, bioavailability, soil health risk assessment, and soil remediation. And the methods of environmental soil science are also discussed. After this course the students should be able to understand the concept and some mechanisms of biological, chemical and physical soil quality and their interrelations. Students will gain scores consist of the scores of their homework and the final exam.
