Faculty Position in Atmospheric Science

    CRE welcomes applications for faculty and postdoctoral positions in the field of geography, environmental science and engineering, agricultural resources and environment, and ecology.

 

    The Atmospheric Environment and Health Impacts Division of CRE invites applications for a faculty position in atmospheric science at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate will develop an internationally recognized program in atmospheric science focused on ambient measurements related to air quality at local and regional scales. The incumbent is expected to have expertise in ambient measurements of anthropogenic and biogenic aerosols and gases, emission and deposition fluxes, transformations, or transport or related topics. The incumbent would be encouraged to work broadly with current faculty with compatible strengths in environmental science, earth science, climate change, ecology, economics, chemistry, physics and related areas. Participation across the campus with the 19 CAS institutes provides unique opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations.

 

    The successful candidate will be expected to be fully engaged in the teaching mission of the college, including formal classroom instruction at the graduate levels, and mentoring of MS and PhD students in research and the process of knowledge development. Teaching responsibilities will include graduate courses in the area of specialty within the Division of Atmospheric Environment and Health Impacts and related graduate programs, such as the Graduate Program in Environmental Toxicology and the graduate program in Global Climate and Environmental Change. A PhD in a relevant field and a proven ability to conduct innovative research are required. Evaluations of applications will begin May 1, 2012, but the position will remain open until filled.
