Course Description:
 
This course focuses on theories and methods of urban economic development and its spatial interaction. Main topics will be discussed in this course include: 1)determinants and evolution mechanism of urbanization; 2)spatial interactions of economic activity and evolution of urban system; 3)interactive mechanism between urban transportation system and urban spatial structure; 4)locational theories about regional economic and social activities; 5) policies and regulations for urban planning and design. By the end of course, students will be able to understand and master the basic theories and methods in the fields of urban and regional development researches.
